Myanmar : Used Tourist e-Visa (2017)

The electronic visa was applied online through official website at https://evisa.moip.gov.mm/ and cost USD 50.00 which was paid and processed by a Singapore-based credit card processor.

Application email was received on 20 February 2017 at 8:40 PM (GMT+1). The visa was approved in less than 24 hours (despite the website advertised that the processing time will take up to 3 days) with a copy of PDF sent through email at 21 February 2017 at 7:01 AM (GMT+1) and the same exact file may also be downloaded from this website, https://evisa.moip.gov.mm/statusenquiry.aspx

An approved visa must be used before or on the expiry date and upon entry into Myanmar, the passport holder will be given 28 days permission to stay.

The printed eVisa was utilised at Mandalay International Airport on 17 March 2017 and the immigration officer only stamped date of entry without official stamping (as it was stamped onto the passport). Exit port was Yangon International Airport and official stamping was marked both on the paper and the passport.

REVERSE

Two self-adhesive labels were personally added. One label from Pagoda Swhedagon in Yangon and another is security tag from Yangon International Airport bag screening upon entering into the complex.

ELECTRONIC VISA

An electronic visa (e-Visa or eVisa) is stored in a computer and is linked to the passport number; no label, sticker or stamp is placed in the passport before travel or when arriving into the country except for normal immigration stamping upon arrival.

The application, payment and notification are all done over the internet. Some country may need the visitor to print the eVisa and show it to the immigration officer upon arrival.

The online application may not necessarily made available for all countries except for select few.
