Third Country Nationals

If you are a national of a country outside the EU/EEA, your EU residence document will be a plastic residence card with your photo and signature. If you lose your residence card, a new residence card must be issued to you. The procedure is therefore different to the procedure for EU nationals. First and foremost, you must complete a police declaration for a lost passport or identity document (P 650-031). This declaration can be obtained from the police. The declaration must be signed and stamped by the police. You will need to apply in person at one of the State Administration offices in Aabenraa, Aarhus, Aalborg, Copenhagen, Odense or Rønne.

You must bring the above police declaration, your passport and a recent passport photo of yourself. At the State Administration, you will need to sign a master record to order a new residence card. The card is ordered from an external supplier. You should expect to wait approx. 4-5 weeks to receive the new card directly from the supplier. If you need to travel before you receive the residence card, you can apply to the Danish Immigration Service for a re-entry visa for your passport.
