Jho Low believed to be using passport from another country, says Immigration DG
PUTRAJAYA: Controversial businessman Jho Low is believed to be using another country's passport to travel after the Malaysian Immigration Department cancelled his passport last month.
This was revealed by Immigration Director-General Datuk Seri Mustafar Ali.
“Right now, he is probably using other passports that he might have,” Mustafar told reporters at his office here today.
The passport of Jho Low, whose actual name is Low Taek Jho, was cancelled by the Immigration Department on June 15 following a request from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in relation to their investigations into the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) case.
When asked which country's passport is used by Jho Low now, Mustafar said: “I don't know.”
According to media reports, the Royal Malaysia Police sent a team to take Jho Low back from Hong Kong, but found upon arrival that he had fled to Macau. - Bernama
