Libyan claims trial for possessing passport with fake security seal
KUALA LUMPUR: A Libyan man has claimed trial at the magistrate’s court here for possessing a passport with a fake security seal.
Musa Ramadan Tayeb, 31, was charged with having in his possession a passport with a security seal that was confirmed to be false by the security division of the Immigration Department.
He allegedly committed the offence at Putra Majestik Condo, Jalan Kasipillay, off Jalan Sentul, here, at about 10.30pm on May 11.
The charge under Section 56(1)(1) of the Immigration Act 1959/63, carries a fine of not more than RM10,000 or a jail term of not more than five years or both, if convicted.
Deputy public prosecutor Nur Farah Adilah Noordin did not offer bail as the accused was a foreigner.
Magistrate Mahyudin Mohmad Som did not allow bail and fixed May 28 for mention.
The accused was unrepresented.
